The pre-fall gap, and what to buy in it

Summer stock is discounted, autumn stock is arriving, and for about three weeks both are on the shelf at once.

This is the strangest fortnight in the accessories calendar. The summer trends still work — it is 90 degrees in most of the country — but every magazine has moved on to Fall 2026, and the shops are carrying both. That overlap is worth using rather than finding annoying.
